If you remeber my Halloween piece, "Nightmare" ... Then this is it's spring/summer counterpart. Katmomma likes drawing horses too!

I turned this into a style study of *kankakanka 's gorgeous rendering. I could never recreate her stye nor would I ever want to-- but I wanted to take a look at the different aspects of her coloring and put my own spin on it.

This was done digital...and again, with a mouse.....ugh. I tried to do a sponge-pait background to make things more interesting.

very nice.
the shadows work nicely as a contrast. would have liked to see perhaps loose strands of hair around the mane so it didnt look too painted on. otherwise good job

=) perhaps you can invest in a tablet in the near future. although theres some horrendously amazing artists out there with impeccable details using a mouse...

i like traditional too anyway xD
