This is my finished toony mask. Everything done by me except for the nose, which came from
It is a balaclava & foam based head. High quality furs from CR's Crafts. Combination of both glued and sewn parts. I've never had any issues with things falling off with glue- when hot glue is done right and in the right places, it is extremely effective (i.e. hot gluing all ending knots in my stitching).
She will debut this year at Anthrocon. I am really excited about this new head!
It came out better than I had expected AND I saved so much money doing it myself (though I am still an advocate of supporting fellow artists!).
I will be posting a reflective tutorial on my experience with mask making in the near future because there are a lot of things I have learned with this project in particular that can really help other makers or people interested in a diy project.
