You might think this was done with oil pastel... NOPE! It's Corel Painter.
I had an hour earlier today to experiment with Corel Painter X.....so far I like it and I'd like to use it more alongside my usual Photoshop CS2. Also...I love drawing expressive portraits. I also love my sweetheart for having such a gorgeously chiseled face to draw <3
It looks really "traditional"! How did you manage to find a proper way of managing pen's pressure with Painter X, if i may ask? (it's the main issue i cannot overcome with painter!)
Thanks! I also had this problem. I kicked the opacity down and it seemed to grant me more play with the pen sensitivity. Still not as comfortable as I am with photoshop- HOWEVER, I noticed corel forces you to treat the media like traditional.
Yes, i also noticed that "real media simulator" thing (which is GREAT), but in some cases i found the simulation to be harder than the real thing! Thanks for sharing also these kind of personal experiencies which mean a lot to me!
