Here is the finished color version of the front pose. I don't know what happened to the background...it's very ugly.....I guess I was trying to complement his ugly plaid shirt. I should know better: 2 uglys don't make a pretty.
Anyway, I tried to put a little more detail into the coloring than I usually do. I used an actual picture of Mr. H. for the plaid texture.

I think I'm gonna go look for some stock and come up with a more cretive background for this one. I sure wish I had taken a picture of his classroom while I was visiting over at the Middle School this past fall.

So before I go revamping one of the best classics I have in my achrives (The Coffee Fight) I found a serious inconsistancy with my design. Looking at my Cairocian Upright Stance design--->[link] ...Standing on toes and having big shoes doesn't quite match up. It's time to begin work on the new 2008 design--- and will apply to all characters.

With this in particular, I also wanted to play around with proportions and line movement. I'm sorry you see so much of Mr. H-- but it is because my style changes so much. He is my guinea pig because from the very first time I drew him, I never seemed to get him right. He is an extremely hard character to draw--it's challenging, so if I can draw him in a new style, I can draw anybody else.

I really like to use this pose for referencing and modeling. I may just do a back veiw as well. I pushed his hips forward--typical male attitude; and believe me, he has one. I've just been drawing the innocent side. I know the hand doesn't look too good...maybe I'll change that. I tried to exaggerate the features on his face a little more-- so he didn't look so human. Just a kitty man.

Love the detail in the eyes, and the fur is textured really well too!
