Since so many people have asked me what other compliments are there on the Color Wheel-- I thought I'd make my own to illustrate it for you.
This time, I have grouped the secondary colors into "Color Families" which correspond to the opposite Primary Color.
I also included some examples of Less Intense colors and Greys-- because a nice grey is not just Black and white mixed together---- it can be RED+GREEN, ORANGE+BLUE, or PURPLE+YELLOW.
These rules do not apply to everything!! Do know that it is the LIGHT SOURCE in a composition that determines what colors you should use... However, what I have above is with standard white light--- something every beginner should try.
Most beginners don't want to understand color theory--- I know because I used to reject the idea--- then when I discovered how it could take my art to another level-- I swore I would never turn back. Thank you! Your blue character Skai is it? Would look so nice with some orange backlighting--- and with traditional media like colored pencil-- taking a bit of orange to the shadows would make better shading than just a darker blue. ^^

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

I usually like monotone colors sometimes but, this can now help me with complimenting colors.
